Natalia Załuska
BIO
A visual artist and painter who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Załuska uses the language of abstract geometry in her work. Through reduction and repetition of structures, she creates spatial compositions on the picture’s surface. Her work was initially characterized by a limited color palette, dominated by shades of black and white, sometimes with subtle hints of color. Over time, her interest in the surface and abstraction evolved into double-sided pieces distinguished by their clear construction and going beyond the traditional two-dimensional image.

Natalia Załuska creates geometric abstractions using the reduction and repetition of forms. Her works have a sensitivity to texture and color, and create a dialog between the space of the image and its surroundings. Here the creative process emerges from the interrelationships between geometric forms. They are created in thoughts, on paper, and in the process of layering the artist’s signature collages. Załuska’s inspirations remain subtle, giving her works an understated quality.
